Young Ninjas was created in 2010. The program focuses on providing a fun, physical outlet for boys and girls ages 3–10 through martial arts, with the additional stated benefit of teaching kids values, social skills, and being overall good citizens. Enrichment classes incorporate basic martial arts, training games, and etiquette, and use a play-based curriculum that introduces techniques and forms from several martial arts styles like karate, Tae Kwon Do, and Kung Fu. Rotating themed sessions include vocabulary of martial arts moves, training games, and etiquette, and each session includes a new color headband based on an animal theme and ends with a personalized Certificate Of Achievement based on the same animal theme. The program is described as really non-contact, with no skill requirements to join, and all equipment is child friendly and age-appropriate. Senseis show up each week with all necessary equipment, and no uniform is necessary.

Young Ninjas offers birthday parties that feature ninja skills, drills, challenges, martial arts, sports games, prizes, and more. The program also offers customizable workshops for camps, schools, or special events, and senseis can go to a child’s school and gather and return children to their classroom. Young Ninjas is fully insured and can provide a copy of their policy upon request.

Instructors are called “SENSEI,” which is Japanese for teacher. Instructors go through a comprehensive training process, teaching on site with senior Young Ninjas instructors for up to 8 weeks or more, and are promoted to Sensei only after completing the certification course. Instructors receive ongoing training, and all Young Ninjas instructors are background checked on a federal, state, and local level. All Young Ninjas senseis are fully COVID vaccinated and have a current TB, T-Dap, and MMR prior to being hired. All Young Ninjas senseis have full background checks and required vaccinations (TB, T-Dap, MMR, COVID).

Parent testimonials describe kids participating in obstacle courses, dodgeball, fun games, and ninja dodgeball, with some parents joining in the games. One parent notes kids learning ninja moves, counting in multiple languages, and making promises to try their best, listen, and treat others with respect. Other parents describe the Sensei teachers as energetic and engaging, say the kids had the time of their lives, and mention that senseis captivated the attention of 4–6 year olds for an entire hour.
