AYSO Region 1288 Lynwood offers youth soccer for boys and girls. The program focuses on kids stepping on a soccer field, developing soccer skills, and learning to enjoy soccer as the world's most popular sport. Each year, the program forms new soccer teams that are as evenly balanced as possible, and every player on every team must play at least 50% of every game.

AYSO Region 1288 Lynwood is part of AYSO, a national non-profit soccer organization that is volunteer-based and child focused. AYSO just celebrated its 50th Anniversary, and Region 1288 has represented the Lynwood community for over 15 years. The program is open to all children between 3 and 19 years of age who want to register and play soccer, with no elimination try-outs and nobody cut from participation. AYSO's Vision is to provide world class youth soccer programs that enrich children’s lives, and its Mission is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs which promote a fun, family environment based on AYSO's Six Philosophies: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development. Lynwood AYSO states that its goal is for kids to play soccer, and AYSO requires coaches to create a positive experience for every boy and girl.
