Madera County Arts Council, which runs Teen Arts Council (TAC), is a private, non-profit organization working to support and promote all arts in Madera County. Madera County Arts Council was established in 1982 by the Madera County Board of Supervisors, and in May 1983 it became an incorporated agency with non-profit status. Its mission is to provide Madera County residents and visitors access to art and culture through diverse programs and services, promote art education by enriching school curricula and other community activities, stimulate and support local arts groups and individual artists within the county, serve all generations and multi-cultural groups, develop public and private financial support for the arts, play a role in the economic development of the area through the promotion of the arts, encourage the promotion of a wide variety of public art, and initiate fundraising activities to sponsor art in public places.

Teen Arts Council (TAC) activities take place within an organization that also presents the Held In Common Art Exhibition, a community exhibition featuring works that reflect personal and inherited traditions, rituals, and shared human experiences. The program is offered in partnership with the Madera Branch American Association of University Women (AAUW), and this season is primarily for MUSD students, with all interested MUSD students encouraged to audition and get involved. A related event features guest speaker Dr. Andrew Fiala, who is Professor of Philosophy and Founding Director of the Ethics Center at California State University, Fresno.
