Give Every Child A Chance (GECAC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the growth and development of youth. Since 1997, Give Every Child A Chance has provided free tutoring to students K–12th grade in their community. In order to qualify for the TEACH Program, the student must show academic need through report cards or MAP/CAASP test scores, and a qualifying grade for tutoring is a C- or S-. Tutors will focus on one subject only, and students work in a group setting with staff, and in some cases volunteers, offering guidance when requested. Staff encourages students to be as independent as possible and responsible for getting their work done, and the program does not guarantee all homework will be completed. All recreation and physical education activities are aligned with the California State Standards. Give Every Child A Chance and Eleyo is moving to a convenient, mobile-friendly, online tool to register and manage accounts from any device, including smartphones or tablets.
