California Yacht Club was founded in 1922 and offers a variety of water activities for children and adults. The camp operates in a setting that includes a swimming pool, Pool Patio lounge, and four lighted paddle tennis and pickleball courts. The club is staffed seven days a week and has gates, controlled access, and overnight security seven days a week. The mission of California Yacht Club is to connect people with the Pacific Ocean.

All counselors are certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid, and the coaching staff includes US Sailing and World Sailing–certified instructors with experience coaching national and international champions. The program maintains a 1:5 coach-to-sailor ratio, and the team includes experienced childcare professionals and camp counselors. Campers may bring their own meals or select a lunch or meal option during registration, depending on the camp. The Dockmaster for the program is Chase Young.
