About
AYSO Menlo Park - Atherton Fall Core Soccer is a soccer program where kids play in organized games and attend weekday practices. Games are played on Saturdays, and players participate in age-based divisions that follow AYSO’s Six Philosophies, including an “Everyone Plays” approach and a focus on balanced teams, positive coaching, good sportsmanship, open registration, and player development. Registration includes a team uniform with jersey, shorts, and socks, as well as field use and supplemental accident insurance for AYSO-sponsored activities.
• Ages: 4–14 years old
• Schedule: Games on Saturdays from 9/12 to 11/14, with practices beginning in late August; U6 has combined practice and games on Saturdays, U8 has one practice a week, and U10+ has two practices a week
• Price: Registration fees are $275 for U6/Kinder league and $300 for U8 and above, plus a $25 AYSO National membership fee; financial assistance is available, and no player will be excluded due to financial constraints
Players must wear shin guards to both practices and games, and cleats are optional but recommended. Divisions are divided by age and gender based on the child’s birth year, using a school-year age matrix with an August 1 cutoff starting with the 2026–2027 season. Younger age divisions play all games in the region, and older teams may occasionally travel to nearby cities such as Portola Valley and Redwood City for games.
AYSO Menlo Park - Atherton states a mission of creating a positive, fun, and inclusive soccer experience for kids ages 4–14, with no tryouts and a volunteer-run structure. The program notes that fall soccer with AYSO is about kids having fun, staying active, and being part of a shared community. The program is entirely volunteer supported and 100% volunteer-run.
The leadership team includes Region Commissioner Joshua Veltman; Treasurer Colin Jenks; Regional Coach Administrator Paul Welander; Regional Referee Administrator Raja Kapadia; Publicity lead Aly Gould; Child & Volunteer Protection Advocate and Safety Director David Rudman; Communications lead Julie Veltman; Social & Family Engagement lead Angie Poon; and Equipment lead Phil Grant. The Registrar, Assistant Region Commissioner, Clinics Coordinator, and Webmaster/Technology roles are listed as seeking volunteers. Division coordinators include Joshua Veltman for U12 Boys, U14 Boys, and U14 Girls, along with email-only contacts for several boys’ and girls’ divisions from U6 through U12.
