• Schedule: Fall K–8 season from September to early November; winter skills clinic from late November to late January; spring K–12 season from February to mid-May; K–12 summer camps in July and August
Golden Gate Rippers Field Hockey was established in 2019 and is the first and only field hockey club in the North Bay. It is described as Marin County’s premier competitive field hockey club, with players from schools across Marin coming together to play. The club offers year-round competitive K–12 field hockey, with programs offered seasonally and the option to commit to all or select seasons. There are no tryouts, and practices are used to evaluate players for team placement, with teams tiered based on ability, level, and graduation year rather than being grade-pure. The club selects competitive tournaments that are convenient and nearby, and seasons are structured to allow players to attend college camps, with support available in college recruiting for those interested in collegiate field hockey. The program celebrates and supports multi-sport athletes.
Athletes are taught by highly experienced field hockey coaches, including former players from top Division I schools and international programs, and there is a dedicated goalie coach. The leadership team includes Coach MB and Coach Aline, who are both former Division I players and coaches. The youth coaching program gives high school athletes the chance to build leadership skills and serve as role models to younger players.
Golden Gate Rippers Field Hockey states that it is passionate about developing youth and high school field hockey in the North Bay. The club’s stated goal is to bring players from schools across Marin together to grow as athletes and teammates, build confidence, and experience the joy of playing field hockey or lacrosse. The program’s mission includes shaping girls to be their best on and off the field and coaching each girl to her own potential so she can see and believe how far she can go.
