Marin Tutors offers one-to-one in-person tutoring in math, science, English, foreign languages, and history, as well as online tutoring for AP economics, AP statistics, AP calculus, and AP biology. The program also provides advanced placement test preparation, standardized test preparation for the SSAT, SAT, and ACT, and independent college admissions counseling for students applying to selective public and private colleges and universities.

Marin Tutors began in 1999 and has tutored students in and around Marin County for 25 years, reaching more than 5,000 students, with over 875 students accepted to Ivy League and University of California schools. The team includes tutors from top colleges such as Yale, Brown, UCLA, UC Berkeley, Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, USC, UC Davis, and Stanford University, and provides in-person tutoring in all core subjects. Founder Shannon Mulligan holds a bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in education from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree in school counseling for grades 5–12 from Boston College. Marin Tutors serves K–12 public and private school students and low income elementary, middle school, high school, and college students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds and has been described as a top-rated tutor in Marin County. The program states that all students deserve top-of-the-line academic tutoring and mentoring to boost self-confidence, gain math and writing skills, and improve their chances for acceptances to top high schools and colleges, and that it is 100% focused on helping students to improve, build confidence, and find joy in learning.
