Mill Valley Pottery Studio

Mill Valley Pottery Studio offers classes and events where participants work with clay through activities such as Intro to Functional Pottery, Handbuilding & Ceramics, Pottery on the wheel, and hand-building techniques. The program includes options like Summer Clay Club, Teen Ceramics, Wheel Wednesdays AM and PM, Throwing Thursday AM and PM, Throwing with Intention, and special events such as Date Night, Family Events, Pinch Pots and Pinot, and Friday Night on the Wheel. Private lessons or events are available for 1–10 people to work on the pottery wheel or sculpt something unique, and Family Events include rolling out a slab of clay and decorating it with stamps and rolling pins.

Mill Valley Pottery Studio was founded in 2011 by local ceramic enthusiast Jennie Dito, who also founded the sister studio Wheelhouse in 2016. The studio is owned by Lucy Alexander and specializes in pottery and ceramic arts education. It offers award-winning classes and workshops in Marin County for adults and kids, with courses available for a wide range of skill levels from beginner to advanced. Gift certificates can be used for any course, workshop, event, or membership, and studio memberships are available for experienced and independent ceramicists, including unlimited access to online resources. The studio emphasizes the medium of clay as a way to learn art, history, science, engineering, and self-reflection.
