The Little School offers group interactions, individual exploration, and both vigorous and quiet activities for children. The program includes hands-on play, open-ended play, and curated exploration time in meticulously prepared environments. Children use spacious outdoor play spaces and gardens as part of their daily experience.

The Little School is a private non-profit educational organization dedicated to the growth and well-being of young children and was founded in 1981. It has a child-centered curriculum and uses developmentally appropriate practices. All of the teachers have training in Early Childhood Education as well as CPR/First Aid certification, and they participate in professional development opportunities throughout the year.
The leadership team includes Director Mrs. Chevonne Fisl. Teachers include Ms. Ainsley (Dragonflies, ages 3–4 years), Ms. Meadow (Honey Bees, ages 2–3 years), Ms. Robyn (Dragonflies, ages 3–4 years), Ms. Kate (Honey Bees, ages 2–3 years), Mrs. Lydia (Ladybugs, ages 2–3 years), Mrs. Shirley (Ladybugs & Honey Bees, ages 2–3 years), and Mrs. Carolina (Ladybugs, ages 2–3 years). The Ladybugs and Honey Bees programs serve 2- and 3-year-olds, and the Dragonflies program serves 3- to 4-year-olds.
The Little School is committed to providing an early education model of excellence for children, their families, and the greater community. It admits students of any race, color, sex, religious or ethnic origin, and families are welcome and invited to be active members of the classroom.
