Ares Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as a sport, along with self defense and fitness training. The program includes world class Jiu Jitsu training with tracks for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students, and plenty of opportunity to train with all levels. Samir personally oversees all of the students and instructors, and a free trial is available.
• Schedule: Class options Monday–Friday 6 AM–10 PM and Saturday–Sunday 8 AM–7 PM
Professor Samir Chantre leads the program and is described as both a 4th degree Black Belt and 3 x World Champion and a 3rd degree Black Belt and 3 x World Champion. He started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu when he was 9 years old, received his black belt from Professor Alan Moraes of the Carlson Gracie Team at age 20, and moved to Northern California in 2009 to pursue his goal of becoming a World Champion and having his own academy. He teaches full time at Ares Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy along with his instructor and other high level black belts. The academy describes itself as one of the newest and most progressive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academies in the world, and states that he believes Jiu Jitsu is for everyone, regardless of age, fitness, or experience.
