• Schedule: Classes in Stanislaus run Monday–Wednesday, 7:30AM–3:00PM
• Price: NCCT has been providing FREE pre-apprenticeship training
Since 1993, NCCT has been providing free pre-apprenticeship training as a building trades pre-apprenticeship training program that helps prepare men and women for entry into various construction trades apprenticeship training programs. The program’s mission is to prepare and place motivated individuals into apprenticeship programs and meaningful careers in construction. Instruction is led by certified journeyman instructors with years of industry expertise. As part of the training, students have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications that employers value, including OSHA 10, HAZWOPER, Welding, Traffic Flagging, CPR & First Aid, and Traffic Control. NCCT reports that over 80% of its graduates have successfully moved into union apprenticeship programs or other high-demand construction career pathways. Some NCCT sites also offer GED preparation and testing, and the program offers employment barrier assistance. NCCT students have helped build homes, parks, and community projects.
To enroll, NCCT requires a completed application, Social Security card, valid California ID and/or driver’s license, current DMV printout, GED certificate and/or high school diploma, Alien Registration Card, and Select Services Card for those 18 to 25 years old. If a student is under the age of 18, they must be engaged either in an Adult Education Program or in Independent Studies. The program requires that students know how to work as part of a team, be able to get up early and get to school on time, be willing to work outdoors, and be willing to work drug and alcohol free. Testimonials from former students describe learning proper work habits such as time management, problem-solving, self-confidence, and being a team player, as well as gaining practical construction skills, certifications, and guidance from committed and knowledgeable instructors.
