Red Dragon Shou Shu

Red Dragon Shou Shu offers kids martial arts classes that include Kids Martial Arts (5–6 years old), Northern Shou Shu, self-defense training, and women's self-defense. Kids martial arts begins with focusing on the fundamentals of Northern Shou Shu and works toward mastering principles conveyed by seven different animals that make up the hierarchy of Northern Shou Shu. Red Dragon Shou Shu (Northern Shou Shu) offers students, both kids and adults, movements, methods, and techniques for self-defense in everyday situations.

Kids Martial Arts for 5–6 year olds is divided into color belt groups: White, Beginner Yellow (white with yellow stripe), Low Yellow (yellow with white stripe), and High Yellow (solid yellow). In studying Northern Shou Shu, a child is expected to obey, listen, and imitate each aspect of the art while learning specific techniques designed to allow kids to defend themselves and their peers in everyday situations. The fundamentals of Northern Shou Shu are divided into seven groups symbolized by seven distinct animals: the bear, the tiger, mongoose, crane, mantis, cobra, and the dragon, and each group refers to a set of movements each student must master that mimic those of a specific animal. The principles of Northern Shou Shu include honor, respect, honesty, and courage, and the techniques and principles are taught in a way that progressively trains the body and the mind.

Red Dragon Shou Shu (Northern Shou Shu) continues the art as originally taught by Sijo Da Shifu Al Moore, Sr., with the purity of its teachings preserved and overseen by Da Shifu James Clark. The program offers special seasonal programs specifically for women's self-defense and provides real-world skills for everyday self-defense for adults. The art of Shou' Shu' is described as a combat art designed for self-defense, using seven different animal styles and principles of physics to create power that can be learned by all regardless of body type.
