About
The Children's Wushu After School Program includes Wushu (Chinese martial arts) training along with time for homework supported by qualified tutors and instructors. The program also offers special classes in Mandarin Chinese, ESL, California Content Standards Test preparation, California High School Exit Exam preparation, and SAT preparation. Participants are asked to bring a top and pants that are comfortable and easy to move in.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Tutors and teachers in the program are all college graduates with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience or 5 years tutoring experience or both. The leadership team includes Wushu Head Coach Wang Wei and Afterschool Director Jennifer Wang. The stated mission of the program is to provide parents a safe and nurturing environment where children can focus on their homework with qualified tutors and instructors, while also providing an outlet to expend their excess energy. The program states that it is very proud of the courses it offers the people of Monrovia.
