Fortune Fencing offers private fencing lessons, group classes, fencing classes, open bouting, a competitive program, and camps. Beginner students use fencing gear provided by the program for their first fencing class, and the program offers a free trial class. Instructional programs are available for students age 8 to 80, and the program focuses on making fencing a fun and enjoyable experience with an emphasis on sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect in a warm and inclusive atmosphere where students of all backgrounds and abilities are welcomed.

Fortune Fencing’s mission is to empower individuals of all ages and skill levels to discover their passion for the Olympic sport of fencing through comprehensive training and education, while fostering a supportive and inclusive community and promoting and growing the sport of fencing. In 2003, Fortune Fencing built a permanent fencing facility with a custom built floor similar to a dance floor or gymnasium, state-of-the-art scoring equipment, an armory that offers uniform and equipment sales, equipment repair services, and uniform stenciling services, seven competition strips (6' x 40') including one grounded strip, electronic scoring equipment, lockers, refreshments, a viewing area for parents and visitors with free wi-fi, and a reception area, and the floor is designed to reduce and prevent injury to fencers. The club is ranked #34 of 548 U.S. épée clubs.
Coach Emara serves a platform for coaches’ clinics, and Coach Zeyad has coached collegiate fencing; together they lead the program and are described in testimonials as knowledgeable, friendly, professional, patient, kind, respectful, and very dedicated, with attention to detailed corrections and to students’ individual tendencies and characteristics. One parent describes Fortune Fencing as “a true gem of the community,” and another notes that Fortune Fencing as a community “took us into their home” during a difficult family time. Testimonials from parents and visitors describe progress in just a few weeks of training, kids who enjoy the sport, and an atmosphere that is super friendly and welcoming to visiting fencers.
New students are instructed to wear a t-shirt, long pants such as sweat pants, and lace-up athletic shoes, and to bring a water bottle. No equipment is needed for the first class because Fortune Fencing provides a fencing sword and all fencing sport gear for beginner students, but for health reasons fencers are required to own their own fencing uniforms, with a minimum of a fencing mask, fencing glove, jacket, and under arm protector. For a free trial, students are asked to come to the studio in a long sleeve t-shirt and long pants.
