Rising Star Gymnastics Training Center offers a wide range of activities, including preschool and recreational gymnastics, boys and girls competitive gymnastics, acrobatic gymnastics, tumbling and trampoline, and adult gymnastics. The program also includes ninja skills through Ninja Zone and Little Ninjas, parkour/free running, tricking, sports agility and tumbling, and outdoor gymnastics classes held under a tent. Children can also take part in arts & crafts, outdoor games, daytime playtime, acrobatics, and special events like Kids’ Night Out.

Rising Star Gymnastics Training Center offers programs for boys and girls ages 6 months–6 years in Preschool Gymnastics and for boys and girls ages 7 and over in Recreational Gymnastics. Rising Star Gymnastics Training Center has a long history, with founder Kathleen Brady operating gymnastics schools and camps from 1971–1981 and establishing Rising Star Gymnastics in 1982. The gym moved to a new and bigger location on Del Monte Boulevard in Monterey in 2001, and it adapted to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 by providing outdoor gymnastics in a tented portion of the parking lot. The program notes that it has been serving Monterey County youth for 38 years as of 2019 and 2020 and references 40 years in 2026.
The leadership team includes Kelly Brady-Favaloro as Owner, Girls Team Head Coach, Hotshot Coach, and Preschool Instructor; Kathleen Brady as Founder; Jenneane Breidenbach as Office Manager; and Kat Kitamura as Team Director and Girls Team Coach. Staff credentials include Kathleen Brady’s study in Gymnastics Coaching Specialization at Alt’s Gymnastics Teaching Academy, Kelly’s B.S. in Human Development with a focus on Child Development from UC Davis (2007), and Coach Breeze’s competitive gymnastics background through college at Brigham Young University and at the Elite level as a National team member for Brazil, with coaching experience since 1992. Evin has been teaching himself parkour/free running since age 11 and has eight years of cello experience.
Rising Star Camps are offered throughout the year during school breaks, with the program stating that when school is out, camps are in, and that these camps are designed to build confidence, increase balance and strength, and give children a chance to meet new friends. The program has been recognized by Monterey Bay Parent Magazine Family Favorites as the best Gymnastics Center in 2019 and 2020 and notes that it serves Monterey County youth. Kelly received the Salut to Small Business Award for best Woman-Owned Business. The program also offers a newsletter signup with email marketing serviced by Constant Contact.
