Monterey State Historic Park's Summer Day Camp: Los Exploradores de Monterey includes period games and play, toys, crafts, food, songs, and dances. Day campers take part in nature observation and interactive guided tours. Campers explore Monterey’s historical buildings and colorful gardens, and the program highlights the many cultures of one of California’s most historic towns.

• Ages: 8–11 years old

Led by California State Park Staff, this Summer Adventure Camp is for students entering grades 3–5. The camp is sponsored by Monterey State Historic Park Association, which also sponsors the Los Exploradores history summer camp and the Christmas in the Adobes event. Monterey State Historic Park Association has been the official philanthropic partner and cooperating association for Monterey State Historic Park since 1975, with a mission to support interpretation, educational programs, and special events there. The association’s leadership includes Mimi Sheridan (President), Jason Reed (Treasurer), Brian Edwards (Secretary), and Lee Henderson, Maria Schoettler, Tom Nabozny, Melanie Stackpole, and Marilynn Whitcomb as Members at large. Monterey State Historic Park Association assists all of the California State Parks by raising funds and increasing public awareness.
