About
Moorpark AYSO Region 363 offers youth soccer programs that include coaching and officiating. The program includes a referee abuse prevention program and coaches’ clinics as part of its activities.
Moorpark AYSO Region 363 states its mission as providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives. The region operates with a totally volunteer concept of operation for coaching, officiating, and local administration, with roles such as Regional Commissioner, Regional Referee Admin, Registrar, Treasurer, Regional Coach Admin, and Division Coordinators serving as unpaid volunteers. Coaches are required to have the appropriate certification level for the team they are coaching, and AYSO provides online and field training to get certified as a coach, with coaching certification not expiring once obtained. Each volunteer must register each year and submit information for a background check, and there are online classes that must be taken annually before being cleared to coach. All training to be a coach is provided for free, and coaches receive a coach handbook explaining the 6 AYSO philosophies and regional rules and regulations. The program includes a program for 4-year-olds, an EPIC Program, the AYSO PLAY! program, and mentions an All Star Coach Application and U16/U19 Program. Moorpark AYSO Region 363 uses Safe Haven and CDC Concussion Awareness practices and has a Referee Abuse Prevention Program. Coaching support from UK International Soccer is provided for most of the Fall season.
Moorpark AYSO Region 363 is part of broader AYSO partnerships, including a partnership with UK International Soccer to work with new and experienced coaches for most of the Fall season, and an AYSO partnership with BEEUP Snacks as the Official Fruit Snack Partner for the 2025–2026 season. Additional AYSO partnerships mentioned include Chicago Public Schools to enhance youth sports programming, the US Center for Mental Health & Sport with a focus on player and volunteer wellness, and the Northland Sports Alliance to expand soccer programming in Kansas City. Michael Karon, President of AYSO, received the Stack Leadership Award for his impact in the world of sports volunteering.
