About
Ranch Camp @ Moss Beach Ranch gives campers daily time tending to horses and their needs, including grooming, saddling, and riding horses. Campers also spend time hiking, exploring ranch trails, doing arts and crafts, and exploring art with nature-inspired materials.
• Ages: 6–14 years old
• Schedule: Weekly camp sessions Monday thru Friday from 9:30AM–3PM
• Price: $550 per camper/per week
Ranch Camp @ Moss Beach Ranch runs weekly sessions with up to 10 children ages 6–14 each week. The program includes a hand washing station for frequent hand sanitation and designated camper restrooms. Campers wear helmets at all times when riding horses and are encouraged to bring their own helmet to camp.
The camp is led by Camp Director Lynn Turner, who has worked for the past four decades with young children, families, and teachers, including a first teaching job at a College ECE Lab School in southern California, serving as the director of a preschool in San Francisco for over 10 years, and currently serving as an Education Coach for San Francisco Head Start supporting teachers in classrooms serving children ages 0–5. Assistant Counselors bring experience with horses and children. The Early Childhood Coach, LLC and/or Lynn Turner are collectively referred to as “ECC,” and ECC is not a licensed medical professional, is not trained in diagnosing psychological or medical conditions, and is not a substitute for medical care or medical advice.
Early Childhood Coaching (ECC) was launched in March 2020. Ranch Camp started in June 2020–2022 as a pilot program during the pandemic, and Ranch Camp @ Moss Beach Ranch moved to the ranch next door in the summer of 2023. The mission of ECC is to make a positive difference every day in the lives of young children by giving them an authentic hands-on and up-close interaction with horses in a rural ranch setting, as well as to establish tools for parents to learn more about their children. ECC programs are accessible to all children and families regardless of socioeconomic status through scholarships from generous donations, and ECC consulting with elementary schools in the San Francisco Bay Area can include assessments and observations of programs in action and meetings with staff and administrators to develop strategies for increasing the success of specific programs. Ranch Camp @ Moss Beach Ranch uses the tagline “where dreams begin…”.
