About
Pine Springs Ranch Summer Youth Camp takes place at Pine Springs Ranch, a Christian Youth Camp and Retreat Center that includes a main Lodge with hotel-like rooms, a cafeteria, a Multi-Purpose Building with two meeting rooms, two sets of cabins called North and South Village with central bathhouses, a Nature Center, pool, Town Hall, horse barn, several staff homes, and two outdoor meeting areas called Church Bowl and Campfire Bowl. The camp is owned and operated by the Southeastern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and is a member camp of the Adventist Association of Camping Professionals.
Pine Springs Ranch’s site was purchased in 1961 to replace a 16-acre facility in nearby Idyllwild and was originally built to be a ranch-style summer camp. It has grown into one of the largest and most modern camp and conference centers of its kind on the West Coast. Pine Springs Ranch states that it strives to provide a safe and professional environment for those who come up the mountain.
The leadership team includes Pastor Carmen Ibañez as Executive Director, David Machado as Assistant Director for the Retreat Center, Savannah Macias as Reservations Coordinator, Ted Keehnel as Food Service Director, Cory Wuttke as Assistant Food Service Director, Fritz Wuttke as Plant Services Director, and Tim Willumson as Maintenance Assistant. Pine Springs Ranch is accredited by the American Camp Association, and camps accredited by the American Camp Association meet over 300 standards for health, safety, staff, and program quality. The camp is subject to multiple tests and inspections by several accreditation agencies and to mandatory inspections from local government agencies.
