Performing Arts Napa Valley

Performing Arts Napa Valley offers music classes that include ensembles, musical theater performance classes, performance classes, and academic music courses. It also includes NVC Chorale, Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Musical Theater Performance, Applied Music, Class Voice, Class Piano, Class Guitar, Fundamentals of Music, Music Appreciation, and Aural Skills.

Programs

• Music Classes — Open to students, community members, and lifelong learners · Includes ensembles, musical theater performance classes, performance classes, and academic music courses.
• NVC Chorale — open to singers of all experience levels · Performance date listed as November 22nd.
• Orchestra — Community members may enroll as non-credit · Project-based orchestral ensemble. Performance date: Notes from Vienna, November 8.
• Jazz Ensemble — Community members may enroll as non-credit · Instrumental jazz ensemble performing standards and contemporary works. Performance date: Fall concert December 10.
• Musical Theater Performance — Fall production: Elf the Musical. In partnership with Cafeteria Kids Theater. Audition date: September 10, 2026. Performance dates: December 4–13.
• Applied Music — Private instruction on your primary instrument or voice with an NVC faculty member. Culminates in a semester-end recital.
• Class Voice — all experience levels · Group instruction in vocal technique, repertoire, and performance.
• Class Piano — beginners through intermediate students · Group piano instruction covering technique, reading, and repertoire.
• Class Guitar — beginning and intermediate students · Group guitar instruction. Acoustic guitar focus.
• Fundamentals of Music — beginners · Music reading for beginners. No prior music experience required.
• Music Appreciation — the general listener · A survey of Western music history and styles. Offered online.
• Aural Skills — Ear training, sight-singing, and rhythmic dictation.
