About

Gracie South Bay Jiu Jitsu Academy – Kids Program offers instruction in Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and self-defense as part of its kids classes. The academy also offers women’s only Brazilian Jiu Jitsu courses, women’s only self-defense martial arts, and private one-on-one instruction for all levels of Jiu Jitsu. The student base at Gracie South Bay ranges from kids age 4 to senior adults, and student interests range from simple hobbyists to competing professional athletes.

Gracie South Bay states that its kids programs help build confidence, character, self defense, and values of respect. The academy is described as one of South Bay's premier academies for authentic Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with world class instructors and a fun, inspiring atmosphere, and it uses state-of-the-art equipment.

The academy was founded by 9x world champion Leticia Ribeiro and UFC veteran Fabrício dos Santos Camões, both Black Belts under Master Royler Gracie. Leticia Ribeiro is the founder and head instructor of Gracie South Bay in San Diego, California, a nine-time IBJJF World Champion, three-time Pan American Champion, five-time Brazilian Nationals champion, and was inducted into the IBJJF Hall of Fame in 2012. Fabrício dos Santos Camões is the co-founder of Gracie South Bay in San Diego, California, a retired Brazilian mixed martial artist, a respected Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, an IBJJF World No-Gi Champion in 2015 and 2016 in the Master 2 division, and a UFC veteran.
