PASACAT Philippine Performing Arts Company Classes focus on Philippine dance, music, and song. The program takes place at PASACAT Philippine Performing Arts Company and includes work with music ensembles in voice, rondalla, and indigenous percussive instruments. PASACAT became the first formally organized Philippine Dance Company in San Diego in November 1970. Its mission is to preserve and promote Asian Pacific culture through the arts, extending goodwill and enhancing cultural understanding. The organization presents the Junior PASACAT Concert and the Parol Festival as major productions and contributes to the cultural enrichment of San Diego with about thirty performances yearly for educational, cultural, religious, and social organizations. Leadership and artistic direction have included George Ragaza as Artistic Director from 1985 to 1989, Joji Ramirez Castro as PASACAT Choreographer/Dance Director since 1990, and Bayani Mendoza De Leon, who developed the music ensembles in voice, rondalla, and indigenous percussive instruments.
