Bear Valley YMCA Resident Camp offers an overnight resident camp experience where campers spend their days hiking, swimming, playing games, practicing outdoor skills, and taking part in camp traditions and evening activities. A typical day includes family-style meals in a historic dining hall, outdoor activity sessions, and time at the camp fire. The program also includes SUP Yoga Camp as one of the specific offerings.

A typical day at Bear Valley YMCA Resident Camp includes breakfast, an Inspiration time, and outdoor activity sessions in the morning, followed by lunch, more activity sessions, an all-camp activity, and cabin time in the afternoon, and then dinner, an evening activity, and camp fire at night. Campers can visit a general store that offers healthy snacks, drinks, apparel, and essentials. Campers learn the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility during their time at camp.

Meals at Bear Valley YMCA Resident Camp are reviewed by a dietitian and prepared by a certified cook. The YMCA of Superior California states that its mission is to “Inspire all to a healthy life - in spirit, mind and body.” Bear Valley YMCA Camp has been creating adventure and memories in the High Sierra for over 80 years and has been a destination for a summer adventure for more than 80 years.

Through Y-Assist, the YMCA offers financial assistance so every child has the chance to experience camp, regardless of income or background, and notes that the generosity of volunteers and public and private donors enables them to give back to the communities they serve. The camp includes a Counselor in Training (CIT) program for ages 14–16 and a volunteer Junior Counselor role for 17-year-olds, and volunteers must be 17 years or older and complete an interview process prior to placement. Family Camp is open to all ages and families of all kinds.
