Camp Gold Hollow Programs

Camp Gold Hollow Programs include swimming, archery, canoeing, and campfires. The programs include Overnight Summer Camp, Day Camp, a Counselor-in-Training program, Family Camps, WoHeLo Family Camp, and Alumni Events. Overnight Summer Camp includes free bussing from Sacramento and the Bay Area for campers.

Camp Gold Hollow Programs are part of Camp Fire Golden Empire. The mission of Camp Fire Golden Empire is to ignite a lifelong love for nature, adventure, and community through Summer Camps at Camp Gold Hollow, where young people connect to the outdoors, to others, and to themselves. Since 1944, Camp Fire Golden Empire has owned and operated Gold Hollow, and in 1927, together with Mills College, Gold Hollow Pioneering Camp for Girls was started.

The leadership team includes President Gemma Minor, Secretary Becky Gile, Treasurer Sara Popovich, Finance Committee Chair Carley Wiegand, Camp Restoration Committee Chair Kristy Venrick-Mardon, Resource Development Chair Nancy Wright, Board Members at Large Robert Thompson and Patty McCulley, Executive Director Kat “Toes” Fitzgerald, WoHeLo Family Camp Director Jennifer-Reedy Platt, Family Camp Director Marianne Bird, and Camp Gold Hollow Caretaker Robert Dehart. Camp Gold Hollow won ActivityHero’s Best of 2025 and 2026 and is a Parent Press Best of 2026 Nominee and a Bay Area Parent Best of 2026 Nominee.

Camp Fire Camps involve campers, alumni, volunteers, and donors, and there are private Facebook groups for alumni of Gold Hollow, Camp Celio, Camp Minaluta, Camp Caniya, and Camp Okizu. There are options to join, give, or lead, and to take part in a Camp Work Party to help get Camp Gold Hollow tucked in for winter.
