Camp Gold Hollow Summer Camp Programs are part of Camp Fire Golden Empire, which states that its mission is to ignite a lifelong love for nature, adventure, and community through its Camp Fire Club and Camp Programs, where young people connect to the outdoors, to others, and to themselves. Camp Fire Golden Empire supports the Bay Area, Sacramento, Yolo, El Dorado, Placer, and Solano counties. Camp Fire Golden Empire blends timeless summer camp traditions with innovative youth programming and offers year-round Camp Fire Club programs that build leadership, confidence, and connection.

Camp Fire Golden Empire has owned and operated Gold Hollow since 1944. In 1926, the Physical Education Department of Mills College in Oakland, California, offered courses in camp leadership that became an approved program of the Camp Director's Association, and in 1927, together with Mills College, “Gold Hollow Pioneering Camp for Girls” was created. Camp Gold Hollow offers Overnight Summer Camp with free bussing from Sacramento and the Bay Area, a Day Camp, a Counselor-in-Training program, Teen Club 13+ @Gold Hollow, Family Camps including Memorial Weekend Family Camp, WoHeLo Family Camp, and Fourth of July Weekend Family Camp, WoHeLo Camp for families living with Autism, Camp Gold Hollow Alumni Weekend, and a Camp Work Party event scheduled for Saturday, April 18 to Sunday, April 19, 2026, to help get Camp Gold Hollow ready for summer.
