Aquatic Safety Instruction offers Parent/Tot classes with basic water safety fundamentals and body mechanics, Sea Horses Group classes that introduce the Dolphin curriculum in an age-appropriate way, and Dolphins classes that cover basic survival skills, strokes, diving, and jumps. It also offers Seals classes that add flutter kicks, flip turns, racing starts, diving entries, strength and endurance, and breathing techniques, plus Tween Program/Swim Team Prep, Teen/Adult Instruction, Private Classes, and Semi-Private lessons.
Programs
- Parent / Tot — 6 mos. – 3 years of age · Interactive group class with basic water safety fundamentals and body mechanics; parents need not know how to swim. Student/Teacher ratio: 4:1
- Sea Horses Group — 3 – 4 years · Introduction to the Dolphin curriculum in an age-appropriate manner. Student/Teacher ratio: 1:1, 2:1 or semi-private
- Dolphins — 4 – 8 years · Basic survival skills, strokes, diving, and jumps. Student/Teacher ratio: all ratios available
- Seals — 5 and older · Mirrors the Dolphin curriculum with added flutter kicks, flip turns, racing starts, diving entries, strength and endurance, and breathing techniques. Student/Teacher ratio: all ratios available
- Sharks — 5 and older
- Tween Program/Swim Team Prep — 11 – 13 and 14 – 16 years
- Teen / Adult Instruction — 17 and older · Adult instruction available for all levels and ratios. Student:Teacher Ratio all ratios available
- Private Classes — Adult · One on one lessons; 30, 45 and 60 minute lessons; private classes cannot be signed up for online.
- Semi-Private — Same curriculum as the private lesson program with two students instead of one per instructor. Available in all locations, including In-Home. For sibling discounts, inquire at registration.

About the provider
Aquatic Safety Instruction is celebrating 41 years of giving the gift of water safety since 1978. The mission statement says, “We pledge to provide a developmentally appropriate water safety program as well as unparalleled customer service while striving to earn the respect and trust of all of our students.” Leadership is listed as Owner/Coach Treci Horowitz and Coach Treci and her team. Treci Horowitz is described as a retired LA County Lifeguard Captain, Brain Gym certified, and holding a Masters of Education in Adaptive Physical Education.
Registration Opens February 1st. 24 hour cancellation policy applies. Weekend same-day cancellations should be texted to (818) 674-1860 and include the student's name and the originally scheduled class time. Private lessons, adult, and special abilities classes require calling 818-363-0221 after registering online. All Covid safety precautions must be followed.
