The organization’s mission is to empower youth, adults and families in a diverse community to achieve well-being, growth and success. It began in Novato in 1972 and became a 501(c)(3) on January 1, 2018 through a merger between the Novato Youth Center and Novato Human Needs Center. It is the anchor human services nonprofit organization serving North Marin and is called upon to address health disparities for children, adults, families, seniors and immigrants. Programs are offered across Novato Unified, Shoreline Unified, and Lagunitas School District campuses, at the Novato Teen Clinic in partnership with Marin Community Clinics, and throughout the Marin County community. The organization is committed to advocating for policies and services that benefit underserved communities and promote social justice, and it collaborates with others in the community to improve conditions for underserved populations. It is located on the unceded ancestral land of the Coast Miwok people and honors their enduring legacy and stewardship of the land. The organization’s values include Collaboration and Teamwork, Equity, Excellence, Integrity, and Learning and Continuous Improvement.
