About
Marin Treks Preschool Programs gives children the chance to view and handle insects, reptiles, and amphibians. During the program, children learn where these animals live, what they eat, and how they avoid predators and survive. Staff encourage children to ask questions about the animals, answer questions together using clues, and touch or hold the animals as part of the experience.
• Ages: 3–5 years old
• Schedule: The program works best with groups of 10–12 children for 30 minutes per group.
• Price: Cost: $100 per hour. Elementary school and preschool and home school class visits: $150 for a 1 hour classroom program; $135 for 2 or more class visits on the same day.
Marin Treks Preschool Programs are part of Marin Treks, which offers unique hands-on educational adventures for preschoolers that feature insects, reptiles, and amphibians. Lessons can be designed to match the subject matter a school is currently studying, and a teacher must be present. Marin Treks offers birthday parties, school programs, after school programs, preschool programs, school field trips, scout programs, and summer camps.
Marin Treks was founded in July of 2007 by Brian Campopiano (also known as Mr. C), who began his teaching career in Portland, OR in 1988 and has taught elementary school, environmental education, and summer day camps for children from pre-K through 8th grade, as well as leading backpacking and whitewater raft trips. Marin Treks states that its mission is to inspire a lifelong love for the outdoors and a basic understanding of the natural phenomena that drive the planet, and it describes its programs as exciting, educational, award winning natural history school programs and half day camps. Located in Novato, Marin Treks serves preschool to middle school students in Marin County, San Rafael, and Petaluma.
