• Ages: 11–14 years old
• Schedule: July 5–10, 2026; 5 nights at camp, with campers arriving Sunday afternoon and leaving Friday afternoon
• Price: Tier I - $765; Tier II - $675; Tier III - $585 (all card transactions have an added 2.5% fee)
Middle School Camp is available for 6th through 8th graders, and 6th–8th grade students are invited to attend. The program includes 5 nights at camp, 15 quality meals, lodging in cabins, inspiring speakers and worship, and community with peers and youth leaders. Campers stay in gender-specific cabins with two cabin leaders who are at least 18 years old in each cabin. Campers have the option to deposit cash at check-in to create a store account, and credit cards are not kept on file for store accounts.
Middle School campers discover important truths about God, their community, and themselves, and they interact with God’s Word and truths in what is described as a relevant, engaging way. The camp is described as keeping it silly while also diving into substance. Campers have the opportunity to learn more about Jesus and process this learning with their cabin, with morning learning time and evening Campfire and small groups built into the schedule.
Calvin Crest states that it has been partnering with God to change lives in the beauty of creation for over 71 years and has been partnering with churches to make life-long disciples of Jesus Christ for more than 71 years. The organization describes itself as a summer camp ministry, conference center, and outdoor school that partners with churches, serves about 7,500 guests annually, gives over 100 Camperships annually, and has more than 25 year-round staff members. Calvin Crest operates some activities under a special use permit with the Sierra National Forest.
The Middle School Speaker for this camp is Alek Bohigian. Calvin Crest reports having an on-site nurse and access to 12-hour-per-day services in Oakhurst. The program can accommodate most dietary restrictions and states that it tries to offer quality substitutes, and meals include a salad bar and drink options at every meal.
Calvin Crest uses a Three Tier Pricing Program, with Tier I most accurately accounting for the true costs of running summer camp sustainably, Tier II as a partially subsidized fee, and Tier III as a historically subsidized rate that covers only a portion of the costs. Families choose the tier that is most suitable for them on an honor system, and all campers receive the same Calvin Crest experience regardless of tier. For families who cannot afford Tier III, additional financial assistance is available through partial scholarships called Camperships, though 100% Camperships are not available and a Campership can be applied to only one camp session if a camper attends multiple sessions. In 2024, 91 Camperships totaling over $31,000 were awarded, and individuals who donate to the Campership fund make this program possible.
Registration and final payments are due two weeks before the camp start date. A $75 non-refundable deposit per camper is required at registration, and all non-refundable deposits are applied toward the total tuition due. Refunds are not guaranteed for cancellations made within two weeks of the camp start date. Calvin Crest strongly encourages selecting the ACH payment option for payments because it does not add additional costs to customers.
Mail to campers is addressed with the camper’s name, care of Calvin Crest Conferences, with a return address on every piece of mail. All care packages are requested to arrive no later than the day before the camper leaves camp, and it is recommended that care packages be sent through UPS or FedEx for timely delivery. Families are asked not to send mail or packages that require a signature, and they may bring letters and packages to check-in to be delivered through inter-camp mail.
