Mountain Area Youth Organization, which runs MY Club, is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 1999 and has been serving mountain youth for over 25 years. Its stated purpose is to provide a safe space for youth in mountain communities to come together for fun enrichment programs that further the growth of each individual. The organization describes a commitment to a safe and supportive space where young people can develop skills, build confidence, and form connections, with staff working to foster belonging, respect, and empowerment.
MY Club features a Focus 40 block that sets aside 40 minutes for homework help, tutoring, and reading in a structured environment intended to help members complete homework assignments. Sprouts Leadership introduces youth to leadership and community service and leads into the SPARKS Leadership program, where members build connections within their community. Leadership activities in these programs include work experience along with speaking and social skills.
Through its Youth Ambassador Program, MY Club provides several educational and character scholarships to youth in local communities. The organization states that it is committed to keeping league registration fees at a level that covers minimal costs so that all children have access to youth sports. All donations stay in the local mountain community and are used for enrichment opportunities, sports equipment, sports scholarships, and related needs. The organization notes that it relies on community support and fundraising and invites community members to contact them about volunteer opportunities, fundraising events, and other ways to get involved.
