• Ages: 11–18 years old

Established in 1974, Oakland Strokes Youth Rowing Programs is part of The Oakland Strokes, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Its mission is to empower youth from all backgrounds to row and develop on a nationally competitive team. The organization offers competitive high school teams, middle school programs, summer rowing, and a Varsity Development & Racing Camp for grades 10–12, serving student athletes from across the East Bay.

The Oakland Strokes offers need-based scholarships for all of its programs and has a community outreach program to find individuals who will benefit from the club. Nationally recognized college coaches seek its rowers, and the Strokes have won 23 National Championships and many Southwest Regional Championships. Its boats place and win at regional, national, and world championships and are invited to international rowing events such as the Henley Royal Regatta on the River Thames in London and the Head of the Charles in Massachusetts. The club has sent scores of student athletes to college rowing programs across the country.
