About
Owl Camp offers a weeklong nature immersion experience where campers learn and play outdoors, create art in nature, and tend the pollinator and habitat garden. Activities include pruning, mulching, mowing, and working with burning piles, including pile prep, lighting, tending, and extinguishing. Campers also take part in a patch burn of exposed grasslands or timber understory, as well as a springtime adventure hike and a family-friendly hike.

• Schedule: Week-long sessions, Monday–Friday

Owl Camp is part of LandPaths, whose mission is to foster a love of the land in Sonoma County and which is celebrating 30 years from 1996 to 2026. Campers are placed in groups based on age, and the staff-to-camper ratio is generally 1 to 12, with the adult-to-camper ratio closer to 1 to 4 due to volunteers. Staff are CPR and First Aid-certified, are skilled and trained outdoor educators with years of experience working with youth in outdoor settings, and all camp staff and volunteers have been fingerprinted for background checks. Partial and full scholarships are available based on need and funding availability and are awarded on a rolling basis until filled, and LandPaths’ programs are offered free or sliding scale, or with robust scholarships. LandPaths states that equity, inclusion, and justice are inseparable from its mission and values, and it engages thousands of participants annually through creative outings, environmental education, nature camps, and land stewardship, including volunteer land stewardship days and community gatherings in local open spaces and a Spring Equinox Community Celebration held in collaboration with Sonoma County Ag & Open Space. Air quality is monitored, and programs are canceled if AQI (PM 2.5) is above 100. If a camper exhibits any cold or flu-like symptoms, they should stay home, and if a camper develops symptoms while at camp, they will be asked to wear a mask.
