About
CFC Learning Centers offers enrichment activities that include art, music, dance, math, science, other languages, American Sign Language, yoga, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and character education. The program includes field-trips, community service, tutoring, homework assistance, art classes, life skills classes, and three types of tutoring: peer tutoring, group tutoring, and one-on-one tutoring. CFC Learning Centers offers an Infant Program for children 8 weeks to 24 months old that focuses on meeting specific needs such as diaper changes and proper food and milk intake. The Toddler Program for children 24 to 36 months old uses a curriculum that includes phonological awareness and early academic concepts and is set up to transition children into preschool. The Preschool and Pre-K Program for children 36 to 60 months old includes emergent literacy, math and science inquiry-based investigations, and fine art introductions. The School Age Program serves children 6 to 14 years old before and after school, includes breakfast in the morning and snacks after school, offers Parents Night Out, and provides transportation to and from nearby community schools, including schools in the 92054 and 92056 zip codes. The Vista location offers after school programs and tutoring for middle and high school children ages 6 through 18 years old, with peer, group, and one-on-one tutoring options.
Care at CFC Learning Centers includes nutritious snacks and meals, diapers and wipes for infants and toddlers, materials for creative and academic curriculum, and nap time sheets and blankets that are consistently cleaned and washed. The program provides low-cost transportation to and from school and offers flexible hours, including extended day and weekend hours, with options for 24/7 daycare in Oceanside. The Bright Baby Infants curriculum incorporates American Sign Language, yoga, and world music, the Toddler/Twos curriculum includes phonological awareness and early academic concepts, and the Preschool and Pre-K curriculum includes emergent literacy, math and science inquiry-based investigations, and fine art introductions. Families receive daily reports, quarterly assessments, and bi-annual conferences.
All team members are CPR and First Aid certified and have a minimum of 12 units in teaching credits, and staff complete extensive training in the creative enriched curriculum and in children’s health, including social and emotional elements. The founder, Shoneil Wilson, has been deeply involved in child and community care for over 32 years and has owned several childcare businesses and established many daycare centers. The mission of CFC Learning Centers is to serve the child, family, and community as a whole, to provide education, awareness, quality programs, and experienced qualified staff and teachers, and to support families with life plans, goal setting, and case management through classes, resources, and referrals.
CFC Learning Centers is part of several associations focused on childcare and child education, including NAEYC (The National Association for the Education of Young Children), NBCDI (The National Black Child Development Institute), ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International), CAAEYC (California Association of Young Children), and multiple regional AEYC organizations in California, Southern California, San Diego, Arrowhead, and Los Angeles Metropolitan areas. The organization accepts almost all Federal and State funded programs, including many options for military families in need of daycare, and accepts the CDA Essential workers subsidy. Its philosophy is inspired by founder Shoneil Wilson’s work in local communities through advocacy, youth programs that cut down on crime, and special partnerships with local police.
