The Race Club Swim Camps offer swim coaching through swim camps, private swim coaching, personalized drills, and online instructional videos. Swimmers work on swimming technique in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly, along with training in starts and swim turns. The program also includes workouts, mental training, strength training, nutrition and recovery, and dryland workouts such as a medicine ball series and other medicine ball exercises for swimmers.
The Race Club Swim Camps use advanced swimming technology that measures velocity, acceleration and deceleration, drag and propulsion, and hand pressure and orientation, and swim campers also benefit from advanced video and analytical software. The program is designed for swimmers and triathletes of all levels and offers one-on-one feedback from Race Club coaches, as well as an online membership with instructional videos, workouts, and comprehensive resources available anytime, anywhere. The Race Club swimming camp origin dates back to 2000, was officially founded in 2003 by Gary Hall Jr. in Islamorada, Florida, began offering swimming camps in 2006, and had 17 swimmers representing 15 countries who trained with The Race Club compete in the 2008 Beijing Olympics; today it is focused on developing swim camps in Oceanside, California and describes itself as using the world’s most advanced technology for testing and correcting swimmers and having a history of training Olympic swimmers and winning Olympic swimming medals.
The Race Club states that its swim coaches are a highly skilled group that focus primarily on improving swimming technique, and that each coach is well trained to observe and correct small details and flaws in technique using advanced swimming technology. The leadership team includes Richard Hall (President), Gary Hall, Sr (CEO and Head Coach), Mary Hall (CFO & Mother of the Club), Mike Eastman (Associate Head Coach / Social Media Coordinator), Marcus Ballerini (Assistant Coach / Technology Support), Finn Brooks (Assistant Coach / Social Media & Technology Support), Sherri King (Customer Service / Scheduling Coordinator), and Sofia Van De Bovenkamp (Director of Operations). The Race Club states that its mission is to transform how swimmers experience the sport, nurturing a lifelong love for swimming and its health benefits, and that every member will refine swimming skills and boost well-being and confidence.
