St. John Preschool

St. John Preschool offers a program based on current and effective child care and educational practices. The curriculum is literacy based and child centered, with child-initiated, teacher-supported play as an essential part of the classroom. Each child is given a safe and nurturing environment to grow and learn according to his or her individual ability, and the school admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin.

St. John Preschool operates as a private non-profit and non-denominational preschool. The preschool is staffed with trained and caring individuals, and the director is Maria Rios. The program is a proud participant of the Quality Matters program, an early childhood initiative developed by First 5 Contra Costa in collaboration with CocoKids and the Contra Costa County Office of Education to support and promote quality early care and education for children ages 5 and under in Contra Costa County.
