California Storm Basketball offers youth basketball tryouts, high school basketball tryouts, and a basketball player development program with year-round training. Players take part in weekly team practices, player development skills training, shooting academies, and athletic training programs that include strength, speed, and agility training. The program also includes decision making in game-like situations, individual offensive and defensive skills development, soft sand agility and strength training, mini camps, pro-style training camps, and team-building activities.

Founded in 1997, California Storm Basketball has been one of just 32 elite Nike Elite Youth basketball programs in the United States since 1998. The program participates in events such as Nike EYBL Nationals, the Nike EYBL Boo Williams Invitational, the Nike Tournament of Champions, the USA Basketball U.S. Open Basketball Championships, and Jr. EYBL. All Storm coaches are USA Basketball Certified and Live scanned. The program is led by Director Lauri Quintero. According to its mission statement, California Storm aspires to emulate the excellence and legacy of the Cal Storm Basketball Club and focuses on passion, skill development, sportsmanship, fundamental basketball skills, teamwork, character-building, and preparation for success on and off the court. The organization states that its coaches and administrators are well respected by college coaches and have developed relationships with coaches from virtually every major NCAA Division I university and college in the nation.
