PG Summer Sandlot offers baseball and softball activities that include skill development, warm-up drills, scrimmages, and supervised competitive games and practices. The program runs as a league and is in its 3rd Annual PG Summer Sandlot season.
• Ages: 4–14 years old
• Schedule: Weekly 1.5-hour sessions from the week of June 8th through July 31st
• Price: Only $30 to cover the cost of team t-shirts.
The program is part of PG PONY, which is run by a Board made up entirely of volunteers, and the public, parents, coaches, and anyone with a general interest are welcome to attend General Board Meetings. All PG residents born between 5/1/2011 and 3/2/2022 are eligible for 14U, 12U, 10U, 8U and 6U t-ball, and Mustang/10U baseball is confirmed, with more groups pending. The organization’s mission is to instill in the youth of the community ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for themselves and others through supervised competitive games and practices, with winning games stated as secondary to improved skill level and to the development of stronger and happier youth who will grow through League play to become healthy, well-adjusted adults. The leadership team includes roles such as PRESIDENT, SECRETARY, TREASURER, BASEBALL DIRECTOR, SOFTBALL DIRECTOR, SHETLAND COMMISSIONER, CONCESSIONS DIRECTOR, FIELD DIRECTOR, SPONSORSHIP DIRECTOR, TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR, COACH & PLAYER DEVELOPMENT, CONCESSIONS ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, EQUIPMENT MANAGER - BASEBALL, EQUIPMENT MANAGER - SOFTBALL, and PINTO BASEBALL REP. The program notes that participation is flexible, with families able to attend as their schedules allow, and that registration closes on July 31, 2026, and it is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to coach and facilitate the program.
