St. Angela's Preschool is an educational ministry of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church that provides high quality early childhood education. The program offers a high-quality developmental program that serves the individual and varied needs of the children and families of the Monterey Peninsula. It is dedicated to the development and education of the whole preschool child in a loving and nurturing co-educational Catholic environment, and welcomes all families seeking a faith-filled learning community for their children.
• Ages: 3–5 years old
• Schedule: Programs ranging from a 3 half day schedule to a 5 full day schedule for Pre-kindergarten and Pre-school ages
St. Angela's Preschool has been in operation for 40 years and has 4 classrooms and 4 schedules. The typical office hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00am–4:00pm. The curriculum contains teacher-directed and self-initiated opportunities for students to build and practice pre-k readiness skills, and teachers work in teams to design and implement lessons and activities that address both the whole class and the unique needs of each student. The program maintains a 12:1 student-teacher ratio, and staff members meet all requirements for child development training and education. The leadership team includes Lily Perez, Principal & Director, and Grace O'Dell, Office Manager.
St. Angela’s Preschool is licensed (#270709281) by the State of California, Department of Social Services, and meets all education, catechetical, and security requirements of the Department of Catholic Schools. The preschool serves the local and global community by fostering a spirit of stewardship, safety, and peace. It follows a non-discriminatory policy for students and personnel, including admissions and employment, and can favor Catholic applicants and co-workers in employment decisions, especially in positions that have direct bearing upon the pastoral activity of the Church. St. Angela’s Preschool is now enrolling for Fall 2026.
