According to the mission statement, Pacifica Co-op Nursery School offers an age-appropriate, hands-on program that focuses on the individual needs of the whole child and enhances cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development through play and discovery of the world. The mission also states that parents and staff work together to enhance the growth, development, and self-esteem of each child while promoting understanding and respect for each child’s unique qualities, with a main goal of creating a loving, nurturing, supportive environment for students and families to learn, grow, and empower one another.

The school describes its community as vibrant and collaborative, with co-op families working together throughout the school year. With the addition of parent workers, the preschool has a significantly higher adult-to-child ratio than traditional preschools. The program states that co-op families build lasting bonds and often form lifelong friendships, creating a supportive and connected network.
