PB Kids

PB Kids is a program of Pacoima Beautiful that includes lessons about environmental topics, guest speakers, and pretend camp outs. PB Kids is meant to inspire youth in the Northeast San Fernando Valley, especially those who grew up with limited access to the green outdoors and suffering environmental injustice firsthand. Pacoima Beautiful focuses on environmental justice, local policy, arts and culture, organizing, planning, and youth organizing.

Pacoima Beautiful was founded in 1996. Pacoima Beautiful describes itself as the only environmental justice organization in the Northeast San Fernando Valley striving for community improvement. Pacoima Beautiful is historically a women-led organization. Through the Green Together Collaborative, Pacoima Beautiful works with Pacoima and Sun Valley residents in California’s San Fernando Valley and engages in community clean-ups, tree planting events, and volunteer-based environmental justice programs in the Northeast San Fernando Valley. Pacoima Beautiful states that its mission is to provide education, impact local policy, and support local arts and culture in order to promote a healthy and sustainable San Fernando Valley.
