Grassroots Junior Tennis offers junior tennis clinics that include stroke analysis, stroke production, drills, match play strategy, and sports science. The program provides all rackets, balls, and T-shirts for participants. Classes are open to beginners, intermediate, and advanced players, and students may attend as many clinics each week as they like, with enrollment required and limited to 25 students.

• Schedule: Class options Tuesday–Thursday from 4:00 to 5:30 pm during two semesters (October 7–January 29 and February 3–May 28)

Grassroots Junior Tennis is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2004. The stated purpose of the organization is to teach tennis as a lifetime recreational and educational sport. Classes are held year round and are available to children ages 7–14 regardless of financial status, and classes are also available to young adults and children regardless of financial status. The program relies on sponsorships and donations to provide professional instruction to interested Coachella Valley youth.

Kay Butler, Founder and Executive Director, draws on many years of competitive and professional experience and has successfully coached junior tennis players of varying ages. The leadership team also includes Jannine Young and Frannie Winstone on the Board of Directors. Grassroots Junior Tennis lists connections with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and the Southern California Tennis Association (SCTA). The organization acknowledges support from Anderson Children's Foundation, Jack Pugh Foundation, Bighorn Cares, United States Tennis Association - USTA, Southern California Tennis Association - SCTA, R.A.P. - Regional Access Project Foundation, City of Palm Springs, Sun City Palm Desert Tennis Club, and The MOCA Fund at Schwab Charitable.
