LIFT Enrichment was founded in 2010, and by 2014 it was teaching at over 50 schools. Today, the organization reaches 17,000 students weekly at more than 250 schools across California, New York, and Texas and has over 15 years of experience. It is an after-school enrichment program specializing in healthy culinary in-person workshops for Title I schools across these states, using a curriculum that focuses on nutrition, simple ingredients, and popular recipes that use vegetables such as zucchini, cauliflower, spinach, and bell peppers. The program uses a standardized curriculum and streamlined process, and the team handles program planning and logistics for the 10-week schedule.
Chef teachers are carefully hired, trained, and supported, and some staff have backgrounds in molecular biology and nutrition science, HR, recruitment, and culinary management. The leadership team includes Founder Eric Horwitz, President Slava Repetina, and several directors, managers, coordinators, and specialists such as regional directors in California, New York, and Florida, recruitment specialists, partnership coordinators, and administrative staff. The organization’s core values are WIN-WIN, FOLLOW THE PROCESS, GET IT DONE, and BRING THE FUN.
LIFT Enrichment was founded to teach kids the essential skill of cooking and promote healthy eating, based on the belief that cooking is a skill kids will use every day. Its workshops combine hands-on learning with lessons about culture, nutrition, and practical cooking skills.
LIFT Enrichment partners with Title I schools and Title-1 districts in California, New York, and Texas, working with school districts and directors to build lasting partnerships and bring healthy cooking programs to these schools. Testimonials from school staff note that students are trying new foods, learning about nutrition and recipes in a hands-on way, and learning things without always realizing they are learning.
