About

Accelerate Hoops Training offers daily practices, classes, drop-in practices, pick-up games, and scrimmages. Practices include a mix of skills work and free flow scrimmages, with specific moments where the coach calls “FREEZE” during scrimmages to create learning moments. During some scrimmages, the coach occasionally steps in to run point and direct kids in their positioning.

• Schedule: Daily practices

Accelerate Hoops Training is led by Head Coach/Trainer Martin Mouton. The program follows the mission, “What Seems Impossible Today Will Soon Become Your Warm-Up! As You Work Hard To Get Better, Our Coaches Will Push You To Get To The Next Level Of Your Game! Accelerate Every Day” – Coach Martin. Coach Martin played at Paly, winning the championship with Jeremy Lin as his teammate. Families have the option to try a free class.

Parents describe Coach Martin as patient, knowledgeable about the game, and effective at teaching correct technique, and they report being happy with the program and coach. One parent notes that he balances positive encouragement with challenging kids to do their best and works well with kids of different abilities and skill levels, keeping groups engaged and focused without raising his voice. Another parent reports that their kids prefer Coach Martin over several other basketball programs they have tried and that he teaches techniques and fundamentals in clear and fun ways while keeping control of the class. A parent also mentions that Coach Martin’s practices combine skills and free flow scrimmages, with him calling “FREEZE” to highlight learning moments and sometimes running point to direct positioning, and that they have seen impressive offense during these pick-up games. Multiple parents state that they highly recommend Coach Martin and Accelerate Hoops Training.
