BrainVyne LEGO & Money Camps focuses on STEAM-based education and financial literacy through programs such as LEGO®/STEAM camps and the Money 101™ camp. The Money 101™ curriculum is game-based, adds a financial education focus, and is endorsed by the National Financial Educators Council. This program meets California Department of Education standards for math, literacy skills, and ELA, as well as JumpStart National Standards for personal finance.

BrainVyne was founded in 2013 by Rathna Ramakrishnan, who collaborated with LEGO® Master Builder Danielle Benedetelli to create customized content for budding LEGO® engineers. She also collaborated with JumpStart and the National Financial Educators Council to launch a financial literacy curriculum geared towards teens. The LEGO® curriculum is based on LEGO® Education Robotics principles and uses a premier line of LEGO® Education kits that are different from retail sets, and no builds are taken home.

The program’s staff includes well-trained, hands-on instructors and California-credentialed, California-licensed teachers, and many instructors return year after year. Each session is led by fully trained instructors, and BrainVyne is hiring seasonal team members with training and flexible hours. BrainVyne states that it is an inclusive program and believes that all children should have access to quality educational summer programs, and its motto is “learning by doing.”

Parent reviews describe children building projects like dancing birds, R2D2, and other daily LEGO® projects, participating in motors to robotics to stop action films, and attending camps such as LEGO® Girl Power Robotics, Star Wars LEGO® summer camp, and Veteran’s Day and spring break camps. Multiple parents mention friendly and organized staff, small group settings, and children asking to return for additional days or sessions. Money 101™ is described in one review as giving kids exposure to the financial world in an age-appropriate way.
