BrainVyne is an education company that provides STEAM-based camps and Money 101 camps for children and teens and has served more than 1,000 happy campers. BrainVyne was founded in 2013 by Rathna Ramakrishnan, a mom to two boys and an education enthusiast passionate about getting kids ready for the world with STEM and Money skills. The program’s motto is “Learning by doing,” and it offers LEGO/STEAM, Money 101 camps, and other special programs for kids aged 4–18, including need-based scholarships.

Each program was developed by a LEGO Master Builder and is led by fully-trained instructors and California-licensed, California-credentialed teachers. The STEAM-based curriculum uses LEGO Education Robotics and a premier line of LEGO education kits that are carefully curated and enhanced by a partner Master Builder, and students use LEGO materials that are not the same as retail sets from Amazon or Target. No builds can be taken home, and in camps where kids make brick films, extra costs include getting the completed movie to the children as well as tools for movie making; in other camps, students use electronics that are high wear.

Money 101 is BrainVyne’s game-based budgeting and financial camp geared toward teens, endorsed by the National Financial Educators Council. Money 101 meets California Department of Education standards for math, literacy skills, and ELA, as well as JumpStart National Standards for personal finance, and helps lay a solid foundation for financial understanding and fiscal responsibility. BrainVyne states that it is an inclusive program and believes that all children should have access to quality educational summer programs.

Parent reviews describe experiences with programs such as Zoom and Star Wars LEGO summer camps for 6–8 year olds, LEGO Girl Power Robotics summer camp, Preschool Simple Machines, and other LEGO day and holiday camps. In these reviews, parents mention activities including building R2D2, building simple machines with partners, working with motors and robotics, making stop action films, and taking part in motorized project buildings, free play buildings, and pool noodle light saber battles. Multiple testimonials mention that children attended spring break camps, summer camps, and short-break or holiday camps, and several parents specifically mention Money 101, LEGO birthday parties, and returning to BrainVyne programs over multiple years.
