About
J-Camp is a day camp that offers activities such as water days and arts and crafts. The camp runs as traditional camp programming, with every session described as a unique experience full of fun and engaging programs.
• Ages: 4–15 years old
• Schedule: Camp hours 8:30 AM–3:30 PM in two four-week sessions
At J-Camp, the stated mission is to build a spirited community where campers are immersed in joyful camp activities and develop meaningful relationships with others while engaging in individual personal growth. The mission explains that camp activities build confidence, stretch imaginations and teach new skills, and that the camp is guided by Jewish values as a welcoming and inclusive camp where campers of all backgrounds and their families learn, play and connect. The mission also states that staff members believe each child is a unique individual with their own rate and process of development, and that the goal is to introduce children to many new experiences and help each child feel confident and secure in the journeys they create while at camp. The mission further states that the camp is dedicated to enriching the lives of campers and facilitating friendships, powerful moments and memories that will last a lifetime.
The leadership team includes Cyrus Mallare-Diethorn, Camp Director, and Monica Valdez, Assistant Camp Director. One parent testimonial describes J-Camp as “amazing,” noting the variety of activities including water days, arts and crafts, and a visiting magician, and mentions appreciation for the staff and attention to safety and fun, as well as that it was their family’s fifth summer and they plan to return. Another parent testimonial describes the camp as a highlight for an 11-year-old, stating that each day included exciting activities, new friendships and chances to learn and grow, and that the child came home with stories, laughter and confidence, with the parent expressing gratitude for the memories and intention to sign up again.
