Boys & Girls Clubs of the North Valley offers Academic Success activities for ages 4 to 18. These activities include reading, tutoring, homework help, and skill-building games. The program was founded in 1995 and says its mission is to inspire and enable productive and caring citizens. It is a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a primary focus on out-of-school time. The program is audited and endorsed by the Grand Jury, is a Platinum participant through GuideStar/Candid, is compliant with the Office of State Assembly Training site for Boys & Girls Clubs and other after school programs, and is described as a model program for youth development best practices. It serves over 4,000 youth at 12 sites in Butte and Glenn Counties, has more than 500 community volunteers, and offers program partnerships and community service projects. Membership is $100 annually, with scholarships available, and no child is turned away due to financial need.
