About
Paradise Recreation and Park District Youth Programs include after school programming, summer camp, preschool activities, teen programs, and special events. The program also offers youth and adult sports, aquatics, and senior services. Park facilities used for these programs include swimming pools, a fishing pond, play fields, a horse arena, an archery range, a ropes course, walking trails, picnic areas, tennis courts, playgrounds, open use areas, and a recreation center.
• Schedule: Registration is available in the office from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Price: Fees are charged for most programs to cover a portion of instructors, program supplies, maintenance, and utility costs, and a 20% processing fee is deducted from refunds.
Paradise Recreation and Park District is an independent special district incorporated in 1948. It serves over 50,000 individuals in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California and covers approximately 165 square miles. The district maintains 73 acres of developed park land and 358 acres of natural open space. Its mission statement is: “We Create Community and Quality of Life Through People, Parks and Programs.” PRPD works directly with the Paradise Symphony, Gold Nugget Museum, Do-It-Leisure, Paradise Bowhunters, Little League, Paradise Ridge Soccer Club, and the Paradise Unified School District in providing leisure services. Online and mail-in registration and payment are available for many programs, and program sign-ups are taken on a first come, first paid basis. Refunds are given only if cancelled by 5 p.m. the day following the first class session, classes of four meetings or less must be cancelled one business day prior to the first class, and all refunds are issued within 14 days of cancellation. Payments can be made by check, cash, or various ATM/debit and credit cards in the office between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
