• Ages: 9–18 years old
• Price: An annual $30 NCGA membership purchased via Youth On Course is required to participate in either NCGA JUNIORS Events or in Junior Tour of Northern California Events. JTNC also requires an $85 membership. NCGA NEXT membership is $48/year.
The NCGA’s mission is to inspire all to enjoy the benefits of golf by providing innovative programs and services. The NCGA’s roots date back to April 5, 1901, and the Junior Tour of Northern California (JTNC), founded in 2008, focuses on helping junior golfers ages 10 to 18 become the best competitive players they can be. JTNC hosts more than 50 events each year throughout Northern California, and JTNC alumni include major winner Bryson DeChambeau, PGA Tour member Justin Suh, and LPGA member Yealimi Noh. New in 2026 are seven single-day and seven two-day flighted events open to all NCGA Juniors 18 and under with a NCGA or Youth On Course membership. To play in a NCGA JUNIORS Event, a participant must have a current NCGA Junior membership via Youth On Course, an established Handicap Index at the time of entry, an index of 6.1 or higher for girls and 4.1 or higher for boys on the day of registration, be between 9–18 years old by tournament day (with players under 9 able to request exemption), and not have started college. To play in a Junior Tour of Northern California tournament, a participant must have a current NCGA or Youth on Course membership, pay the 2026 Junior Tour Membership Fee of $85, take Mandatory Rules and Etiquette Curriculum, have an established Handicap Index at the time of entry, have an index of 4.0 or lower for boys and 6.0 or lower for girls, be between 10–18 years old by tournament day (with players under 10 able to request exemption), and not have started college.
The NCGA Foundation champions programs that support youth, underserved communities, and other golf organizations united around shared goals, and in partnership with Youth on Course facilities, the NCGA provides affordable games for a diverse group of 23,000 young people. Team Northern California will expand the pipeline for elite local golfers into the U.S. National Development Program, a United States Golf Association initiative. NCGA NEXT is an exclusive, discounted membership designed specifically for golfers ages 19–25. The NCGA is one of the largest Allied Golf Associations and has one of the most diverse memberships in the nation, and its Hall of Fame, founded in 2011, holds an annual ceremony every September to honor people who significantly impacted golf in the region.
NCGA Golf Magazine was named the Best Publication for its category by ING Media in 2021 and 2022 and received an Outstanding Achiever Award in 2025. The NCGA is celebrating its 125th Anniversary in 2026.
