Black Diamond Ballet

Black Diamond Ballet presents ballet performances that include full-length productions of The Nutcracker, along with dance classes and outreach demonstrations. The program’s Nutcracker production features professional dancers, guest artists, and locally trained student dancers from across the Bay Area. The 14th Annual Nutcracker Performances include a sensory-friendly show and school-day performances.

• Schedule: Nutcracker tentative dates are December 4–13, 2026, with performances on Friday, December 4 at 7pm; Saturday, December 5 at 11am (sensory-friendly); Sunday, December 6 at 2pm; Saturday, December 12 at 7pm; and Sunday, December 13 at 2pm.

Black Diamond Ballet is East County's first professional ballet company and was formerly known as Delta Children's Ballet Theatre (Delta Children's Ballet Theatre DBA Black Diamond Ballet). Its Nutcracker production has been presented since 2009. The organization states that it is dedicated to preserving and promoting classical ballet through professional performances, dance classes, and outreach demonstrations, with a primary purpose of providing access with intentional focus on equity, representation, and inclusion through ballet to all in East Contra Costa County. Black Diamond Ballet is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization formed for educational purposes. The company has been committed to serving audiences from East County, Pittsburg, Antioch, Brentwood, Oakley, and beyond with ballet performances that include exciting new choreography, costumes, and cultural dances in a classical ballet that represents and looks like the community. Sharon Sobel Idul is the director of the 14th Annual Nutcracker Performances.
