East Bay Karate-Do offers training in Okinawan Uechi-Ryu Karate, including a specialized Little Ninja’s Karate program and fitness kickboxing. The program also provides virtual classes through Zoom, along with group workouts and help sessions. Additional fitness options include RIPPED and AFAA group exercise.

Since 1994, East Bay Karate-Do has been providing safe, family-oriented martial arts experiences to students of all ages. The program offers training programs for every age and is now enrolling in virtual classes that include up to 5 classes per week and a free training t-shirt delivered at no cost to Antioch and Pittsburg.
East Bay Karate-Do states that its goals are to make a positive impact in students’ lives and teach life changing skills through the practice of martial arts. Its mission is to foster self-improvement and personal development through focused training, promote physical fitness and positive social interaction in a courteous and energetic atmosphere, and instill in students a sense of discipline and a code of ethics to inspire them to lead exemplary lives as leaders in the community. The vision of East Bay Karate-Do is to create leaders in the community and develop successful martial arts students, Black Belts, future instructors, and well rounded individuals. The Little Ninja’s Karate program is described as an age-specific curriculum that is professionally designed to teach children important life skills in a fun, exciting, and enriching manner.
The program is led by Sensei John Felipe, also referred to as Kyoshi John Felipe. His credentials include Certified 7th Degree Black Belt in Okinawan Uechi-Ryu Karate-Do, Certified Renshi - Master Instructor through the International Uechi-Ryu Karate Federation, and Certified Master Instructor through the Okikukai Association in Okinawa. He is a Certified Member of the International Uechi-Ryu Karate Federation, a Certified Instructor for Fitness Kickboxing through the National Association of Professional Martial Artists, a Certified AFAA Group Exercise Instructor, and a Certified RIPPED Instructor. He has over 27 years of training in Uechi-Ryu Karate and over 24 years of teaching experience, is an Okinawan weapons expert, and is a three-time National Grand Champion in Uechi-Ryu Forms, Weapons and Sparring (1989, 1992, 1993). He is also an Outside Tournament Grand Champion in Forms and Weapons in 1996, 2000, 2006, 2009, and 2010.
